The Sioux City Journal is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Executive Assistant / Finance Clerk. This role is responsible for recording all monies entering and leaving the journal’s offices. The role performs a wide variety of financial record keeping tasks. These duties include bookkeeping, accounting and some payroll reports. In addition, you will perform various administrative tasks and support the senior executives of our company. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office required with a broad understanding of Excel. Responsibilities Act as a point of contact between executives, employees, customers and other external partners Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner Track daily expenses and prepare weekly, monthly or quarterly reports Act as office manager by keeping abreast of office supply inventory Format information for internal and external communication – memos, emails, presentations, reports Take minutes during meetings Organize and maintain office filing system Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration Computerized accounting programs Accounts payable and receivable Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures Payroll systems Understanding of relevant financial policies and procedures Requirements Excellent knowledge of MS Office Exc skills organizational and time management skills Knowledge of office gadgets and applications (eg electronic calendars and photocopiers) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Discretion and confidentiality. College education required.
